I am running quite terribly behind on the April drawing, a-whoops! While I struggle to catch up so I can post a bunch at the same time on the drawing blog, here’s one I just finished. The challenge (from several days ago) was to draw a bunch of different facial expressions. So here’s Mauve pulling some faces. He don’t smile much so be glad you got a smirk! 

I’d like to do a bunch of these, of Tandy, Bargo and Marie too. Still struggling a bit with the line between cartoony/not all that cartoony (as you can see in the last one).

Here’s a bit of a weird one of a griffon vulture for April drawing; we saw a bunch of these flying over the house in Crete. Holy cow are they amazing things. 

The style’s loads different on this one because I was scribbling away, hid the layer beneath and I thought the picture looked loads better with just the one layer. So, there, that’s it, that’s all. 

Again, not Tandy and Mauve related.

It was for April drawing; which I am behind on. Hopefully more tonight, depending on how dinner goes. You know how life is. 

~This something-wolf is not going to appear in Tandy and Mauve’s comic. Just to avoid any confusion on that old… front. 

This is this evening’s April drawing submission, just a quickie of Tandy before I go to bed. I’ve reached that annoying point where I’ve got a few drawings on the go, all of them either bad or unfinished. Hopefully there will be some nicer finished stuff for ya soon. 

Got a good direction going on the writing of the comic; James and I are basically ready to start scripting I think. Wahey!

Ha ha, hah, I  just noticed that my sig is backwards because I flipped the drawing at one point, then remembered it right at the end so flipped it back to the right way round. I forgot that writing doesn’t work the same way backwards. OH WELL night night. 

Here’s Mauve from when he was a bit younger and had pretty bad hair. Bless his heart! EDIT: In retrospect his hair isn’t actually bad in this one. I guess I was thinking of another pic I drew earlier. 

This was just another quick sketch for the April drawing thingy. The elusive sketch for April the first will turn up, I assure you. I got a great book in the post today about drawing and writing comics; been pouring over that most of the afternoon. I’m only about a third of the way through and its advice so far has been invaluable. I’d recommend it! It’s called “Drawing Words and Writing Pictures” by Jessica Abel and Matt Madden. Check it out! Or don’t. You know, whatever. GAWD
